About Harrison
Harrison Yount is a Texas-based pedal steel guitarist whose work has become a defining element in the sound of modern country music. Since launching his professional career in 2016 on tour with Kacey Musgraves, Harrison has built a reputation for tone, taste, and consistency—earning him a place on stages and records alongside many of the genre’s most celebrated artists.
He currently tours with country powerhouse Cody Johnson, contributing not only to the band’s electrifying live shows but also to Johnson’s studio work. Harrison’s playing is prominently featured on Human: The Double Album, including tracks like “By Your Grace,” “Cowboy Scale of 1 to 10,” “Made A Home,” “Son of a Ramblin’ Man,” and the standout duet with Willie Nelson, “Sad Songs and Waltzes.” He also played a key role in shaping the sound of Johnson’s Leather (Deluxe) album, appearing on songs such as “Double Down,” “That’s Texas,” “Whiskey Bent,” “Make Me A Mop,” and “Georgia Peaches.”
Over the years, Harrison has shared the stage with an impressive list of country legends and rising stars, including Luke Combs, Brooks & Dunn, Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Ian Munsick, Randy Houser, and the Toby Keith band during a nationally televised tribute performance following Keith’s passing.
In recognition of his skill and contributions to the genre, Harrison was named Steel Guitarist of the Year at the 2022 Texas Country Music Awards. He is proudly endorsed by D’Addario and Mullen Guitars.
